Dress Rehearsal Details:

When you arrive dressed and ready for your dance, you will be seated by class in the theater. Look on the end of the rows of seats for a picture of your costume and your class day and time and sit in that row .

We do have backstage moms asigned for each class in the 11:00 and 2:00 show. All of these classes are very young and it is impossible for their teacher to assist them throughout the show, as they have multiple classes in the recital. A backstage mom will help with any costume issues, costume changes, bathroom trips, and helping to keep the class quiet backstage.

At dress reheaarsal, these backstage moms will accompany their class backstage and also help them line up if necessary, so they can practice too!

For the dress rehearsal you will remain in your seats in the theater so you can watch all of the other dances. You will practice on the stage in the order of the recital show.
Your child's backstage mom, or a studio assistant will come get you from your row and take you backstage to lead you to your places, as well as walk you back to your row when you are finished. Please be patient and quiet during this reheasal because it is for the children, many of whom have never been on the stage before.

If you are in more than one class and need to change your costume you will use the backstage dressing rooms. The backstage area is located to the right of the stage and down the steps. Please use a large zip-lock bag for your tights, shoes, and costume accessories for your 2nd and even 3rd dances. Please clearly label these bags with your childs name on it and use the same bag for the recital so it is familiar to your child. This will hopefully make all costume changes smooth and easy.

Just in case, there are bathrooms located downstairs.

During the 6:00 show, there will be two acts in the recital and the dancers in the First Act will be released to leave at the intermission "time". At that time they can sit with their parents in the audience for the remainder of the show. All dancers in all shows can and are encouraged to stay for the finale- we all dance together up to the stage together - no choreography, just clap your way down through the audience. Your teachers and studio assitants to be there to help you with the finale. We will practice the finale during the dress rehearsal at the very end of the rehearsal, just like the recital. If you would like to practice the finale you will need to stay till the end of the dress rehearsal. It will be after practicing the finale that the rehearsal will be officially over. It is not necessary to stay, especially if you are a returning student who has previously performed in the recital.

Thank you for taking the time to read this page. If you have any questions, or feel we have missed something regarding the dress rehearsal, please bring it to our attention. We would like to have as much information posted here as possible in order for the entire   Center Stage Recital to be a wonderful experience.

Recital Details:

Arrival time for the 11:00 Show, is 10:30. Arrival time for the 2:00 Show is 1:30.

When you arrive for the recital at that time you will need to bring your child to their class row in the audience.. If you are only in the Second Act we will ask you to watch the First Act from the audience with your parents and come find your class row in the audience during the intermission.

Arrival time for the 6:00 Show is 5:15 for the First Act.

*** Have a dancer in more than one dance? Please bring all dancers "extra" costumes downstairs and we will have someone in charge of helping your dancer change. Please make sure that all costumes, tights, shoes and accessories are LABELED.

All dancers who only dance in the First Act will be dissmissed to their parents at the intermission from the stage with their backstage mom . They can then sit with their parents in the audience, and dance up the ailes for the finale. Imediately following the finale the dancers will be asked to sit down on the stage for studio presentations. It is during this time that Miss Michele will introduce the teachers as well as present the 3, 5, and 10 year dance students with their achievement awards. There are some dancers in the 11:00 and 2:00 shows who will receive these awards.

Please check and double check the posting on the studio bulletin board for these 3,5, and 10 year achievment awards, so that we do not leave any dancers out who are eligible for these awards. Parents, it is a good idea to prepare your younger dancer that some of the students will be receiving awards, and maybe your child will in the future too- but, "not this year". You have to have attended dance classes at Center Stage consecutively for 3, 5, or 10 years to receive one of these awards. During the 6:00 Show we will also have some special awards to present to deserving dancers!

We kindly ask you to stay in your seats for the duration of the show. If your child needs help backstage and you feel you must help them, then please consider being a backstage room mom. This will allow you to watch the dancers from the side of the stage, and be available backstage to help your child. It is very disruptive for much of the audience, for parents to be constantly comming in and out of the backstage doorway.

We also kindly ask you NOT to take any flash photography during the actual recital as it is distracting and dangerous for the dancers. We also do NOT permit anyone to video tape the recital. Professional DVD's are available to purchase before or at the recital.

Order forms for the DVDs will be available in the office at the studio.DVDs must be PRE-ORDERED this year before the recital

Thank you for taking the time to read this page. We want our Center Stage families to have a wonderful recital experience. If you have any questions, or feel that we have forgotten something regarding the Recital, please bring it to our attention.

Have a fantastic show!
